The Trombone series was designed in 1966 by renowned Danish lighting designer Jo Hammerborg, who is responsible for a number of original lamps that have become classics over time - many of them based on cylindrical shades. The Trombone in particular presented a number of technical challenges during the design process and was therefore of particular importance to Jo Hammerborg in realising his vision - and the lamp is one of the designs that had a place of honour in his own home throughout his life.
