Vintage Karl Wittmann sofa in cognac leather from 1963 collector's item

A rarity and a collector's item. Karl Wittmann sofa daybed in cognac leather, model Independence. Designed around 1963. Cognac-colored leather, chrome-plated metal.

This very rare sofa/daybed by Karl Wittmann, model Independence, was designed in Austria around 1963 by Karl Wittmann for Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten. It can be transformed into a daybed using a simple mechanism. The sofa consists of two parts, the backrest and the seat. The two parts are connected by side steel connections, which in turn are combined with the minimalist steel legs of the sofa. The patinated cognac-colored leather is structured by vertical lines that give the design a striking rhythm. A great collector's item of high quality.
