The Søborg chair, produced by Fredericia, is a comfortable chair with generous proportions in the seat and backrest, both of which are available with or without upholstery. This makes the chair suitable for restaurants as well as meeting rooms, informal work areas and private homes. Børge Mogensen introduced the first version of the wooden chair in 1950 and later expanded the series to include several variants. The Søborg chair has interchangeable components that can be replaced separately if necessary.
Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) was one of the most influential designers shaping modern Danish design and the founding designer of Fredericia. He found inspiration worldwide in his quest to create everyday objects that would last for generations. He was praised for his masterful sense of materials and proportions and created designs that are celebrated and exhibited in the leading design museums worldwide.
